Gemma 4, released in March 2026, marks a license change for Google's family: for the first time the weights are under Apache 2.0. Available in E2B, E4B, 26B A4B (MoE) and 31B sizes, with context windows up to 256K tokens and text, image, and audio input. The 12B Unified followed in June — an ideal size for PCs with consumer GPUs.
